To cook this delicious meat recipe you will need the following ingredients
- 4 (2” thick) beefsteaks, tied (10 ounces each)
- 2 tbsp vegetable oil
- 2 tbsp sea salt
- 2 tbsp black peppercorns, coarsely cracked
- 4 tbsp unsalted butter, left at room temperature
With this amount of the ingredients you should get 4 servings.
Instructions for preparation and cooking:
Step 1: Preheat the oven to 200 degrees Celsius (4000 F).
Step 2: Heat a large cast-iron pan over high heat for 5 to 7 minutes.
Step 3: Meanwhile, pat dry the pieces of meat with paper towels. Brush oil lightly all over them. Combine the sea salt and peppercorns on a plate and in the mixture roll each piece of meat on all sides, pressing them lightly to help the sea salt and pepper adhere. Every piece of meat should be evenly coated with this mixture.
Step 4: When the pan is extremely hot, place the meat and fry it evenly on each side for about two minutes per side. (While doing this be sure that the cooking area is well ventilated.) You will probably need about three turns to fry each side of the meat and about ten minutes in total.
Step 5: Remove the skillet from the heat and arrange all the beefsteaks flat in it. Top each with a tablespoon of butter, then place the pan in the oven. Cook the meat for 8 to 12 minutes to 1200 for rare and 1250 for medium-rare. Serve the beefsteaks on a platter, cover them tightly with aluminum foil, and let them rest for 5 to 10 minutes.
