Worry not my friends, because today I will show you a fantastic Filipino recipe for cooking a delicious Pomfret fish with vegetables. This dish takes a minute to prepare and is ultra quick to cook it so it won’t take much of your time. This makes it an ideal choice for a family dinner or dinner party with your friends 🙂
To prepare this meal you will need the next ingredients:
- 1 medium Pomfret, thoroughly cleaned
- 4 medium size tomatoes, cut into 4 pieces
- 2 large white onions, cut into round slices
- 3 banana peppers
- 2 g fresh ground black pepper
- 8 mustard leaves, cleaned
- 10 ml cooking oil
- 5 ml fish sauce
- 200 ml water or fish stock
Instructions for preparation and cooking:
Heat a frying pan and pour some oil.
Shortly fry half of the sliced tomatoes until they are overdone.
Add half of the sliced onion and also saute it until it is overdone.
Pour in the fish sauce and ground some black pepper. Toss the ingredients a little bit.
Pour in the water or the fish stock and cook it until it starts to boil.
As soon as the food starts boiling, gently place the Pomfret fish and let it cook for 3 minutes on each side.
Once the meal is done, turn off the heat or remove the pan from fire.
Add the mustard leaves as well as the banana peppers and cover the pan.
After 2 minutes remove the lid, pour the meal into a serving tray and decorate it with the remaining half of the tomatoes and onions.
