25 Things to Stop Doing to Yourself Right NOW!

All people do things to themselves which are not particularly good for them. They beat themselves up; they make themselves feel guilty; they even make other people happy at their own expense. The list goes on and on. The thing is that people forget to take care of themselves. Finally, people live with themselves more than anyone else, so why do they do that?

Here are 25 things that you have to stop doing to yourself right now!

1. Do not spend your precious time with the wrong people

People often care too much about what other people think of them, and sometimes they put a lot of efforts into having them in their lives. If a person really cares about you, he or she will make enough time and space for you. Know that the people who matter the most are the ones who are there during the worst parts of our lives, not the best.

2. Sweeping your problems under the carpet

Or, in other words, stop trying to run from your problems. You cannot fix something unconsciously because it simply does not work that way. Instead, focus and do your best to solve them. Have you ever solved a complex calculation right away? Most people don’t and life is pretty much the same. Facing and solving these problems is what will eventually make you a stronger and better person.

3. Lying to yourself

This is the worst thing that a person can do because he or she will trick themselves into doing things that hurt them. We have to be honest with ourselves and only then our lives will improve a lot.

4. Placing your needs on the last place

There is absolutely nothing wrong with taking care of other people and doing good for them, but when we do this at the expense of our own happiness then we are doing ourselves a disservice. Remember: you are special, too!

5. Being someone else

You are who you are and that’s how it will always be. So you need to stop trying to be something or someone else that you simply are not. Society has always tried to make us be more similar, which is something we really are not. We have to be prettier, stronger, smarter, younger, etc. There are products and media that push this. Finally, we have to be who we are. If we love and respect ourselves then people who deserve us will love us too.
